tfh, my suggestion was only for brand new sites, i.e. the blank dialog that comes up when you click the Add button at the bottom of the Sites list. It would have zero effect on any existing sites.
However, this would require you to change the default setting when you add a brand new site to your server, if that new server requires directory listing functionality, because the default would now be "Disabled".
