Oh, boy, this is getting educational. I've been programming mainframes for over 20 years, learning something new every day since I started working on the web. I do appreciate the help you are providing. This is a much friendlier community (especially now when all the mainframe jobs are going overseas).
What the heck is a proxy? And how do I disable it?
I've tried this using Netscape, Internet Explorer, and MSN Explorer.
When I entered "
http://127.0.0.1/" on Internet Explorer, and "
http://127.0.0.1:9999/" on Netscape, I get the "Welcome to Abyss Web Server X1" page! And it says "Abyss Web Server is running correctly on your system". Is there a way to get to the console from that site?
In all other instances, they tell me they can't find the URL. I've tried the above, also "
http://127.0.0.1", "
http://127.0.0.1:9999", "http:127.0.0.1/" AND all of the above with "localhost", every combination on all three browsers. And no, I am not including the quote marks.
I rebooted my system and tried everything again, no change.
