First off, thank you for the reply.
It does indeed work if you type
http://127.0.0.1:81
Since then, I've changed ports around to see if that was the problem. Right now my server is running on port 522.
However, it is not accessable to other people outside my network at home.
I have tried typing in
http://myipaddress:522/ and it hasn't worked, even on the proxy server. I've had other people try as well.
I signed up for Dynamic DNS (
http://dyndns.org) and made a webhop (a URL forwarding service) for it also. I signed up for the dns for my ip address (68.60.**.***) and used http://68.60.**.***:522/ as the address for the service to forward it to. My IP address has not changed in quite some time, although it is dynamic. I've checked every day to see if it has changed, and it has not.
I am running Windows XP and I am using Black Ice Defender as my firewall. I did configure it in there to allow traffic on port 522 with my actual ip address.
I also set up port forwarding for my router.
I have it forwarding to port 522 with my ip address of 68.60.**.***
Would I have to forward to port 522 using my local network ip address instead?
Thank you for the reply. My server works on my local side, just not on the outside world.
Thanks again,
Tom
