Abyss - RaspberryPI - ARM Binary

Hi Guys,
I know Abyss is supported for Linux but only under the intel x86 etc chips.
With RaspberryPi out I was wondering if it can be re-compiled/build Abyss to support the ARM processor.
I back in 2006 in this post:

That it was stated in version 2.3 ARM was hopefully to be supported, but I can't find it anywhere.
The RaspberryPi runs ARM1176JZF-S (armv6k).
Any help would be great.

Porting Abyss Web Server to the Raspberry Pi is on our to do list. The release has just been delayed since we're still waiting for our ordered kits to ship.
Actually, we have been contacted by several users of our software who suggested to us the port. It should be fairly easy to do and we hope to make it available within a few weeks.

If you needed it BETA tested etc more than happy to assist..
Means I can get away from lighttpd which just doesn't cut it...

Hey guys, I tried the new 2.9 on my pi, no go. Is there any updates/timelines regarding support for raspberry pi, beaglebone black, MK802, etc......or any ARM branch?? We can't be the only ones wanting a sm webserver.....Abyss is PERFECT for this task.......

For now, our Linux versions are for Intel and compatible processors.
Support for ARM won't be generic. In other words, we won't support the whole ARM family since the ABI changes from system to system. We will support specific ARM-based systems.
Regarding the Pi, we may probably surprise you if we say that it has already been ported and that we have a working edition since more than 2 months under heavy tests.
But it cannot be released as such. There is still some work to ensure that it will work on the most popular Pi distribution (Raspbian) without any compatibility issues. For example, should we rely on OpenSSL to be already installed or should we ship our own OpenSSL code?
The official release will be announced in the very near future. So if you are interested in receiving a preview as soon as it will be made publicly available, please contact us by email.

Any news re the PI? any beta versions out there in the wild? any desire/intent to continue porting this to ARM? I'm well aware that abyss is more for home/small servers. I just want to bring to your attention that mainstream is going ARM, proof of this is HP's moonshot and many others.

The port is already there and has been working well for months.
The main issue is that we have to make it available for a single distribution (most likely Raspbian) due to the fact that we cannot support different ABIs http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianFAQ#What_do_you_mean_by_.22soft_float_ABI.22_and_.22hard_float_ABI.22.3F.
By the way, Abyss Web Server on Rasp isn't vaporware. We have announced it and promised Beta since a few months. But our busy schedule delayed its launch.

The port to RPi still lives in our source code repository. But since the fragmentation of the Pi scene with two chipset versions (at least) and many "supported" distributions, we are reconsidering the Pi version release and the work it will involve.
Out of curiosity, what distribution are you using? Is there a case for supporting old versions of Pi (A, B, B+ with the 32-bit processor)?

Building a version for the any specific version of the RPi is possible. The challenge is having a way to build one which works across all generations of the RPi...

It's not a definitive "no". This is on our to do list and we can send you "unofficial" versions for your particular board. Get in touch with us by email for a quicker exchange.
