The SVG MIME type isn't in Abyss by default. Here's how to add it so the browser will render it instead of doing a "force-download."
Log into Abyss
Click "Server configuration"
Click "MIME Types"
Click "Add"
Fill in as follows:
Mime type:
image/svg+xml
