404.asp does not work

Hi all,
I have created a custom error page 404.asp... However, when trying to access a page that does not exist, it is NOT showing my custom 404.asp error file, but the standard Abyss Webserver error file...
Changing it to an html file, like 404.html it goes fine....
The 404.asp works fine as I have tested it on my host (external) and I do have Selisoft installed.. That works fine, as other asp pages display as expected..
Anyone any ideas what might be wrong?
p.s.: I looked into the access.log file, but my 404.asp is not mentioned in there...

Exactly 1 year later, and the issue is not resolved...
Worse yet: I did not even get 1 reply!
No one has any idea???

You didn't need to wait a year to bump your topic. You should have spoken up a long time ago if no one had helped you yet. You also could have emailed support@aprelium.com.
You are certain that you have ASP pages configured to work when served by Abyss? And are you certain that you set the 404 error page setting to your 404.asp document?

The question has been answered by email, the answer is:

Custom error pages are not like usual pages: they shouldn't include redirections as they will break the way the HTTP protocol works.
So if you need to have your error page redirect to another, the best is to use the simple Meta refresh method:
